the newest acquisition To the Sportswear Lineup Made A Dupe of My Activewear. It’s Game On!

Some GMs of sports teams fill out the lineup by signing high-priced free agents in the off-season. I do the same, except for the new lineup of sportswear fashions picked up by shopping Free People in-season. Call it a new year’s resolution to save mad money or mad props to Moneyball, but there, I went off yonder on Amazon for many hours more than I would like to admit. And guess what happened? I happened upon activewear cut or styled similarly to the design of FP Movement sportswear by Free People. Am I a free spirit now, as the app specified, free shipping “for Prime members,” as wise Amazonians put it—or, for fashionists, “in a monumental dupe.” I meant to say “Mad Money” with Jim Cramer, but what came out was a Freudian slip: “I’m mad about Brad Pitt.” Welp. No use in looking back now. Look forward to the future; specifically: posts on activewear. Look at crop tops here and now available from the AMZN marketplace compared with the FP movement.

Since a crop top is defined as a short shirt that usually leaves the midriff bare, and both of the garments in any of various colors here available at Free People and Amazon match that abovementioned definition, each of them expectedly mirrors the other cut on the line in the same pattern or figured design. As for the materials used, compare the 92 percent nylon, 8 percent spandex line of FP Movement with the 82 percent nylon, 18 percent spandex line on Amazon. Maybe your brand of ironic has made you wise to the fact that the lesser spandex, the more constraint, the more constraining activewear, the lesser active ability, the lesser freedom of movement, the lesser people are free. The lesser free people. Alas, there is greater movement of free people in activewear requiring lesser active care: machine washable wear from FP Movement—opposed to the “hand wash only” restriction from Amazon.

Spending can be restrictive too. So, let us talk pricing. Each crop top costs $30 at Free People. Amazon retails a trio of crop tops for $59.98, on sale now for $27.98 (yup, the price is right for 3 tops) There is also a pair of acid wash crop tops selling on Amazon for $27.98 as of this writing.

I ordered a set of three crop tops from Amazon. TBH, I really like them. They are fun, easy, and cute. I’d wear them actively for fitness and casually with a pair of jeans. While these crop tops appear to be sportswear, they perform aesthetically much better than athletically. They won’t hold a candle to a sports bra, especially for busty players like me. I don’t know why I thought to test out their support level, only to be duped by my crop top’s flimsiness. I need to wear a sports bra under these crop tops while exercising and probably wear an everyday bra underneath them regularly so as to avoid bouncing around everywhere I go.

Of course, I couldn’t bounce around anywhere frozen solid. So, I had to be appropriately attired for winter in Chicago at this time of year. For that, I wore my crop top with a mix of yoga pants/leggings and running shoes, capped off with a beanie. Oh, and the quarter zip fleece I borrowed from my husband’s closet (once again).
